This year has been a real test for everyone and I am sending all of the squad a huge HUG and hope you stay well.

I started to think about what Strong By Strand means. It has become my platform to share my helath and wellness journey in the hope that I help someone else along the way.

Thats a pretty lofty goal and one that I did not take very seriously, and that changes now. I am committing to making this the best platform it can be so be on the lookout for lots of new content.

I promise no doomscrolling or difficult phyical challenges will be coming your way. The best way forward is one step at a time and with this blog and a each other we can keep moving in the right direction.

I was thinking this morning about the first presidential election that I was eligible to vote in. I had to look it up because I did not remember it! I think that this election will be alot different for any first time voter.

The pandemic has changed everything. It has always been important to vote and have a say in your local representatives but looking back on the several times I have voted, i never felt this much of a focus on the election.

So on Tuesday this will be my strategy.

No Doomscrolling. 

Doomscrolling is endlessly reading bad news story after bad news story, and understandably can leave you feeling… bad.

I will set aside a block of time to look at the news once or twice a day and go directly to a source I can trust. It can be tempting to see other perspectives on the same story, but that can lead to more anxiety.

Hey squad,

Sometimes I just don’t know what to do with all the to-dos!

Like listening to podcasts, I am a little late to the regular practice of meditation. Luckily there is an app for that.

It does help slow the chaos down a bit so that I can re prioritize. I plan on getting it all sorted for the week and knocking that list into just a few notes.
So, if you happen to ride metro north and hear someone taking really deep breathes, it me. I promise not to break into “ohm”s.
